It's been more than a month since I reached Doha to join my beloved hubby !

After a bumpy turbulence flight with a very bad sore throat, I touched down at 6am in the morning and was excited to see Andrew after two months.

Happily, he brought me to our home..which is a double storey villa. The theme for the entire compound is Arabic and there are 3 bedrooms and 1 maid room. There is also a front and backyard garden which we can do gardening. The place is huge for just the 2 of us and for the next few days, we felt that we are living in a chalet. But we like the big hall where we can do our devotion and listen the birds chirping outside the garden.
God even provide a squash court and pool in the villa. Think He really knows me well.

It doesn't matter how much preparation I had made mentally back home, I still experienced culture shock. The 1st day I went to the mall, I felt so much at home yet strange cos all the shoppers are in black and white. The women wore black burqa with veils and men wore a white robe or head piece. Also, I can't find the Chinese stuffs which I easily can obtain in S'pore.Like leafy vegetables, sesame oil, soy bean paste, Chinese rice wine. tofu, ikan billis, hei bi, HL milk, Pokka jasmine green tea..and EGGS !!

My spirit was dampen on the night when I shop at the supermarket.

Thankfully, we managed to get more stuffs from Carrefour and I must learn o improvise our food with their local supplies. And I had found EGGS but the shell is white colour - something new. (I'll show you the bitter gourd next time)

As for my daily life ? It's turn from "rushing from one event to another" to "what to do next huh?" For the initial weeks, we had no car, no internet, no TV program, no friends.

I got to sleep as long as I wished and usually was about 10 hours each day and the moment I woke up, there would be be a still voice that said.. " Hey ! why are you waking up so early ? You have nothing to rush for today.... "- Ha..the last time I felt this way was when I was in school holidays in my teens.

The good thing is that with all the communications down, I talked to God and read His words more. Thanks to Diana who gave me the Korean drama series and Charles who gave us the DVDs on Heros and Prison Break, our lives is not boring watching the romantic and heroic shows.

Thank God too that we get to know some Singaporean friends here and they are nice folks.

But we also miss our families, our get-together time, the MacDonald breakfast, the impromtu dinner/drinks sessions, birthday celebrations etc. We also miss our church services and care group.

We must definitely catch up when we go back to Singapore in mid year.
